Quality of Work Under Jal Jeevan Mission

The Government of India, in partnership with states, has been implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) since August 2019 to provide potable water to every rural household through functional tap connections. The states are responsible for planning and implementing water supply schemes, while the central government provides technical and financial support. A recent assessment revealed that 86% of households have working tap connections, with 85% receiving adequate water and 87% meeting quality standards. The Department has established a comprehensive monitoring system to ensure effective implementation and transparency in financial management.
