Rabi Crop Coverage Increases by Over 8 Lakh Hectares in 2025-26

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has announced progress in the Rabi crop area coverage as of December 19, 2025. The coverage has increased by over 8 lakh hectares compared to the previous year, totaling 580.70 lakh hectares. The area sown for pulses increased by 3.72 lakh hectares, mainly driven by a significant rise in gram cultivation. Oilseeds, especially rapeseed and mustard, accounted for an area of 93.33 lakh hectares, indicating growth in agricultural productivity for the season.
