Rabi Crop Sowing Area Exceeds 536 Lakh Hectares in 2025

As of December 5, 2025, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare has reported an increase in rabi crop sowing, exceeding 536 lakh hectares. The coverage for pulses stands at 117.11 lakh hectares, slightly up from last year's 115.41 lakh hectares. The area covered by Shri Anna & Coarse Cereals is 41.77 lakh hectares, while oilseeds have surpassed 89 lakh hectares, indicating a positive trend in rabi sowing for the current season.
