Railway Minister Accelerates Kavach Implementation

The Ministry of Railways, led by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is fast-tracking the implementation of Kavach, an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection system. Key technological upgrades, including the Universal Braking Algorithm, are being deployed across Indian Railways to enhance safety and operational efficiency. The centralized monitoring platform 'SURAKSHA' will aid in real-time supervision and predictive maintenance. Kavach installations are underway on over 24,000 route kilometers, with expansion plans for 9,000 additional km in the next two years.
