Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to inaugurate the extended Vande Bharat Express service connecting Jammu Tawi to Srinagar, significantly improving rail connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir. The train, augmented from 8 to 20 coaches, will start regular service on May 2, 2026, enhancing travel options for pilgrims, tourists, traders, and locals. This extension eliminates the need for passengers to change trains at Katra, offering seamless travel and contributing to improved tourism and economic activities in the region.
