RDI Funding for Industry-Backed Projects to Start in January 2026

The Ministry of Science & Technology, headed by Dr. Jitendra Singh, has announced the commencement of the Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) funding scheme for industry-backed projects by the end of January 2026. Approved by the Union Cabinet, this ₹1 lakh crore initiative aims to spur private sector-led research. The Technology Development Board (TDB) and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) have been selected as initial fund managers, set to issue calls for proposals before month's end.
