Real-Time Data Sharing in Disaster Management
The Ministry of Earth Sciences highlighted the real-time data sharing mechanisms among various agencies like IMD, INCOIS, NCS, and NDMA for effective disaster management. These agencies provide continuous meteorological and seismic data, issue early warnings for natural disasters, and conduct public education and preparedness programs. Despite existing guidelines for seismic retrofitting and disaster risk reduction, challenges remain in implementation due to financial and technical constraints. Efforts are ongoing to enhance capacity-building and coordination to improve disaster response and resilience.
