Record Foodgrain Output in India for 2024-25

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare announced a record foodgrain output of 357.73 million tonnes for 2024-25, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. This growth reflects a historic rise of over 106 million tonnes in the last decade. Key crops like rice and wheat also reached record levels, with significant increases in oilseed production. Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed gratitude to farmers and emphasized the government's commitment to agricultural welfare and self-reliance in pulses.
