Relief for Textile Exporters: Extended Export Obligation Period

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Export Obligation (EO) period under Advance Authorisation for textile products from 6 months to 18 months, providing significant relief to exporters of man-made fibre (MMF) and technical textiles. This measure, along with the exemption of import duty on cotton until December 31, 2025, aims to enhance raw material availability and improve the competitiveness of Indian textile exports, which were valued at USD 8.46 billion in 2024-25.
