Reservation for Persons with Disabilities in Housing

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has extended the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) scheme until December 31, 2025, to provide housing assistance to urban beneficiaries, with a focus on persons with disabilities (PwDs). Although there is no formal reservation for PwDs, the scheme prioritizes their allotment. PMAY-U 2.0 has been launched to assist an additional 1 crore beneficiaries, emphasizing support for vulnerable groups including widows, senior citizens, and minorities.
