Restoration of Telecom Services in Uttarkashi After Cloudburst

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has successfully restored critical telecom connectivity in the Bhatwadi–Gangotri region of Uttarkashi district following a devastating cloudburst on August 5, 2025. The disaster caused significant damage, including the loss of two telecom towers and disruption of services across the region. In collaboration with various agencies, DoT restored 26 telecom towers and deployed temporary towers to ensure essential connectivity. Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) was also implemented to allow subscribers to access the strongest available network during this crisis.
