Restructuring of Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) in India

The Government of India has restructured the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) mechanism to enhance coordination among Central and State stakeholders in drug law enforcement. Established in 2016 and restructured in 2019 and 2022, the NCORD aims to combat drug trafficking and abuse through improved inter-agency collaboration, real-time intelligence sharing, and various initiatives like a 24x7 helpline and a national database on arrested offenders. The current 4-tier structure includes an Apex Committee, Executive Committee, State Level Committee, and District Level Committee, ensuring comprehensive oversight and action against drug-related issues.
