Review of Jal Jeevan Mission Progress

As of July 2025, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has successfully provided tap water connections to over 15.67 Crore rural households in India, representing 80.93% of the total rural households. The mission, initiated in August 2019, aims to ensure assured potable water supply to every rural household. Regular reviews and assessments have been conducted to ensure effective implementation, with 86% of households reporting functional tap connections. The mission has adapted to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and global crises by amending operational guidelines to sustain progress.
