Review of SO2 Emission Standards for Thermal Power Plants

A new notification issued on July 11, 2025, sets compliance deadlines for TPPs and emphasizes resource conservation and air quality improvement. The National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) aims to reduce air pollution by 40% by 2025-26, with specific measures to address PM2.5 levels and enhance monitoring of industrial emissions.
