Revised Consumer Price Index for Agricultural and Rural Labourers

The Ministry of Labour & Employment has updated the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Agricultural Labourers (CPI-AL) and Rural Labourers (CPI-RL) to a new base year of 2019=100, replacing the previous base year of 1986-87. This revision includes enhanced scope, methodological changes, and a broader coverage of states and items. The CPI-AL and CPI-RL for June 2025 stand at 134 points each, with year-on-year inflation rates of 1.42% and 1.73%, respectively.
