Sagarmala Scheme: Advancements in Port Development
The Sagarmala Scheme, initiated by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, aims to enhance port-led development in India by utilizing its extensive coastline and navigable waterways. The scheme has funded 121 projects worth Rs. 9415 Cr, with 77 completed. It includes various initiatives such as infrastructure development, skill training, and green port guidelines to promote sustainability. The government also follows a strategic approach under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for integrated infrastructure planning.
