Shri Sanjay Garg, a senior IAS officer from the 1994 batch, has taken charge as the Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) effective November 1, 2025. With over three decades of administrative experience, he has expertise in various sectors including agriculture, food logistics, and industrial promotion. Prior to this role, he served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Research and Education, where he led digital transformation initiatives. Garg will also serve as the President of India's national committee in the IEC.
