The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, highlighted the initiatives under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs aimed at promoting self-employment among tribal communities in Himachal Pradesh. Key programs include the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) which supports tribal entrepreneurship and the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) that provides concessional loans for income generation. Additionally, Rs. 13.69 crores have been allocated for the DhartiAabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) to address socio-economic gaps in tribal communities.
