SECI's Green Ammonia Tender to Decarbonize Fertilizer Sector
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has launched a significant tender for the production and supply of 724,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually, aimed at decarbonizing India's fertilizer sector. This initiative, part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, seeks to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions in ammonia production. The government is providing financial incentives to ensure viability and encourage participation, with the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.
