Seventh Tranche of Critical Minerals Auction Set for Launch
The Ministry of Mines in India is set to launch the seventh tranche of auctions for critical and strategic mineral blocks, aimed at enhancing the country's mineral security and economic development. The auction, to be launched by Union Minister of Coal & Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, and Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, will feature 19 blocks across several states. These blocks contain essential minerals such as lithium, graphite, and rare earth elements, crucial for sectors like clean energy and advanced technologies. The amended Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act empowers the government to conduct these auctions, with revenue benefiting state governments. The auction process is designed to be transparent and efficient, incorporating reforms like Insurance Surety Bonds to provide flexibility to bidders.
