Skill Development Initiatives Under PMKVY and NSDC

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) reports that over 1.6 crore candidates have been trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) in the last decade, with 1.29 crore certified. The NSDC has trained an additional 1.74 crore candidates and facilitated 2.32 lakh trainer certifications. The government has introduced PMKVY 4.0 to enhance training quality, including On-Job-Training and digital monitoring. The initiative aims to promote inclusivity and equitable skill development across various sectors, with a total fund release of Rs. 1538.29 crores for FY 2024-25.
