Soil Health Cards Initiative in Tamil Nadu

Since the launch of the Soil Health & Fertility Scheme in 2015, Tamil Nadu has issued 152.51 lakh Soil Health Cards (SHCs) to farmers, including small and marginal farmers. The distribution is facilitated by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) officials and Mobile Soil Testing Laboratories (MSTL). Training and advisories are provided to farmers, with a focus on soil health management. The state has also achieved NABL recognition for 36 static labs to ensure accurate soil testing, and a digital portal has been established for soil health card generation.
