Special Maternity Leave and Organ Donation Leave for Central Government Employees

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has introduced provisions for Special Maternity Leave and Special Casual Leave for organ donation. Female Central Government employees can now avail 60 days of Special Maternity Leave in cases of stillbirth or death of a child shortly after birth, effective from September 2, 2022. Additionally, a maximum of 42 days of Special Casual Leave is granted for organ donation, aimed at encouraging this noble act among employees, as announced on April 25, 2023.
