Status Update on the Implementation of the Forest Rights Act in Telangana
The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, discussed the implementation of the Forest Rights Act in Telangana in the Rajya Sabha. As of now, the state has granted a total of 231,456 forest rights titles, including both individual and community claims. However, there are still 329,367 claims pending. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs remains committed to safeguarding the rights of Scheduled Tribes, and recent Supreme Court orders have paused any evictions related to this Act. The ministry continues to launch initiatives to support tribal welfare across the nation.
