Strategic Expansion of PACSs in India

The Government of India has approved a plan to strengthen the cooperative movement by establishing 2 lakh multipurpose PACS, Dairy, and Fishery cooperative societies across the country over five years. This initiative aims to enhance grassroots engagement through various government schemes and support from national banks. A Standard Operating Procedure has been launched to ensure effective implementation, and a project for the computerization of PACS has been approved with a financial outlay of ₹2,925.39 crore.
