Strategic Initiatives Under Maritime India Vision 2030
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways outlines the Maritime India Vision 2030 (MIV 2030) aimed at enhancing port infrastructure, logistics efficiency, and maritime sector growth. Since 2022, improvements have been seen in port capacity, logistics, vessel turnaround, and coastal cargo tonnage at major ports. Initiatives include the operationalization of National Waterway-5 and the promotion of the Rail–Sea–Rail model at Paradip Port. These steps are part of a strategic upgrade of coastal and inland waterways in the East Coast states.
