Strengthening India's Electric Vehicle Ecosystem

The Ministry of Heavy Industries has reported significant achievements in various schemes aimed at enhancing India's electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. Key initiatives include FAME-I and FAME-II, which supported over 2.5 lakh and 14.3 lakh EVs respectively, along with the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, which aims to incentivize 28 lakh EVs. Other schemes like PLI Auto and PLI ACC focus on investment and manufacturing in the EV sector, while the SPMEPCI promotes electric passenger car manufacturing. The PM e-Bus Sewa scheme aims to deploy over 38,000 electric buses, ensuring payment security for operators.
