Strengthening Rabies Treatment in India
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is enhancing rabies treatment and prevention through the National Rabies Control Program (NRCP). This includes improved surveillance of animal bites, free access to anti-rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin, and the establishment of model anti-rabies clinics. The initiative also involves training healthcare staff and creating awareness about rabies management through educational materials and videos. The 'One Health' program further supports veterinary involvement in rabies diagnosis.
