Strengthening the National Investigation Agency: Key Initiatives by India

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), established post the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, is witnessing significant expansions and enhancements to fortify its operations. Following the NIA (Amendment) Act of 2019, the agency is empowered to pursue offences affecting India's security, both domestically and internationally. New divisions have been created to tackle cyber terrorism and human trafficking, while initiatives like the Terror Funding and Fake Currency (TFFC) Cell and the Counter Terrorism Research Cell (CTRC) have been launched to enhance investigative processes.
