Support for Farmer Producer Organizations: Government Initiative
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has been executing the Central Sector Scheme aimed at forming and promoting 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which engage in various agricultural activities. Since the launch of the scheme in 2020-21, significant financial assistance has been provided to support these FPOs. Current statistics reveal a notable growth in the turnover of these organizations, with millions of farmers benefitting from increased collective bargaining power and access to markets.
