Supreme Court Directs Sahara Refund to Depositors via Online Portal

The Supreme Court of India has ordered the distribution of Rs. 5,000 Crore from the 'Sahara-SEBI Refund Account' to be disbursed to legitimate Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies depositors. The Ministry of Cooperation, in compliance with this order, launched the 'CRCS-Sahara refund portal' to facilitate the transparent and paperless refund process, supervised by Justice R. Subhash Reddy and Shri Gaurav Agarwal. As of January 2026, approximately Rs. 8,429.42 Crore has been disbursed to over 39.46 lakh depositors. Deposit claims are directly transferred to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts after verification.
