The Ministry of Jal Shakti released a report detailing the achievements of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen and Urban) since its inception in 2014. The report highlights the construction of over 11.9 million individual household latrines and nearly 260,000 community sanitary complexes under SBM(G), along with significant funding allocations over the years. The Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2023-24 survey revealed that 95.1% of households have access to toilets, while challenges in maintenance and awareness persist. The mission aims to sustain Open Defecation Free (ODF) status and improve waste management in rural areas.
