Swadesh Darshan Scheme Update

The Swadesh Darshan Scheme, launched in 2014-15, aims to develop theme-based tourism circuits in India. A total of 76 projects have been sanctioned for ₹5290.33 Crore. The scheme was revamped as Swadesh Darshan 2.0, with 52 projects approved for ₹2108.87 Crore, and an additional 36 projects under the Challenge Based Destination Development sub-scheme for ₹648.10 Crore. A feasibility study was conducted in 2019, and project timelines vary due to factors like Covid-19 and local issues, as stated by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
