Swavalambini Scheme: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Across India

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform of NITI Aayog, launched the Swavalambini Scheme in February 2025. This initiative, conducted in selected universities across Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana, aims to empower young women by equipping them with the necessary entrepreneurial skills and resources through structured training and mentorship. The programme involves awareness and development phases, targeting 1200 female students and providing them with the tools needed for successful business creation. With ongoing activities supported by various stakeholders, the project aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and facilitate the creation of sustainable enterprises led by women.
