TDB-DST Partners with Elmentoz Research for AMP-Enriched Protein Commercialization

The Technology Development Board (TDB) of India's Department of Science & Technology (DST) has signed an agreement with Elmentoz Research Private Limited to develop and commercialize Antimicrobial Peptide (AMP)-enriched smart proteins for animal nutrition. This initiative aligns with India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, aiming for sustainable, antibiotic-free solutions to improve feed conversion ratios and reduce disease incidence in poultry, aquaculture, and pet food sectors. The project utilizes a proprietary insect biomanufacturing platform to produce these proteins, which support the circular economy by integrating locally sourced agri-food and industrial waste streams. Elmentoz's innovations promise benefits for both large and small farmers by offering cost-effective and performance-enhancing alternatives in animal feed.
