Ten Percent Gross Budgetary Support for North-East Development

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region monitors the expenditure under the ten percent Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) mechanism for Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. Regular quarterly reviews assess the utilization of GBS, which has significantly increased from Rs 24,819.18 crores in 2014-15 to Rs 1,02,749.00 crores in 2023-24. Over 11 years, a total of Rs 6.11 Lakh crore has been spent, enhancing infrastructure and services in health, education, water, and power sectors.
