The Ministry of Communications Issues Satellite Service Licenses

The Ministry of Communications announced in a response to the Rajya Sabha that the Department of Telecommunications has granted Unified Licenses for Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) service to three companies, including OneWeb India Communications Private Limited, JIO Satellite Communications Limited, and Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited. Other applications are at various stages of approval or rejection. These licenses aim to enhance connectivity in rural and underserved areas, promoting digital inclusion across India.
