Tourism Ministry Boosts Tribal Area Tourism in India
The Ministry of Tourism in India is actively enhancing tourism in tribal areas through initiatives like Swadesh Darshan and Swadesh Darshan 2.0. These projects aim to develop tourism experiences and infrastructure across various destinations, particularly in the North-Eastern regions, by providing financial assistance to state governments and Union Territory administrations. A new sub-scheme under Swadesh Darshan focuses on developing 1,000 homestays in tribal areas to leverage tourist potential and support tribal livelihoods. This initiative aligns with the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PM-JUGA).
