The Ministry of Tourism is actively working with State Governments to enhance tourist safety in high-risk destinations by establishing dedicated Tourism Police and a 24x7 Multi-Lingual Tourist Helpline. The Nirbhaya Fund has been set up to improve safety for women tourists, with significant financial support allocated to various states for safety projects. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat provided this information in a recent Rajya Sabha session.
