Towards a Potential Cure for Alzheimer’s Disease
Researchers from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research have identified a novel therapeutic target for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) involving microRNAs (miRNAs) and small molecules. Their study reveals the role of the miR-7a-Klf4 axis in regulating neuroinflammation and ferroptosis, which are critical in AD pathology. The findings suggest that targeting this axis could lead to effective treatments and potential cures for AD, significantly alleviating the socio-economic burden of the disease.
