Tragic Bus Accident on Medina–Mecca Highway Claims Lives of Indian Pilgrims
On November 17, 2025, a bus carrying Indian Umrah pilgrims collided with a fuel tanker on the Medina–Mecca highway, resulting in multiple fatalities. Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, expressed deep shock and condolences to the victims' families. The Ministry of Minority Affairs is coordinating with Indian Embassy officials and local authorities in Saudi Arabia to provide assistance and support to the affected families, including setting up a helpline and a camp office in Medina.
