TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality in Assam
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted an Independent Drive Test (IDT) in August 2025 to evaluate mobile network performance in Silchar city, Hailakandi, and Karimganj districts of Assam. The tests covered 284.1 km of city routes and assessed various parameters for voice and data services across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies. Key findings include high call setup success rates for major telecom providers and significant variations in data speeds, with RJIL achieving the highest average download speed of 219.13 Mbps.
