TRAI Assesses Network Quality in Jammu Region

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted an extensive Independent Drive Test (IDT) in the Jammu & Kashmir Licensed Service Area during February 2026, evaluating mobile network performance of major service providers including Airtel, BSNL, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), and Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL). The assessment covered urban environments, hotspots, public transport hubs, and highways, with tests conducted across multiple technologies such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. The findings, aimed at measuring parameters such as call setup success rates, data throughput, latency, and speech quality, indicated varying levels of service performance among the providers.
