TRAI Consultation Paper on Radio Frequency Spectrum Auction
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a Consultation Paper regarding the auction of radio frequency spectrum in bands identified for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT). This follows a request from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for recommendations on auctioning various frequency bands, including 600 MHz, 700 MHz, and others. TRAI's recommendations will address reserve prices, band plans, and auction timing, with comments from stakeholders invited until late October 2025.
