TRAI Evaluates Mobile Network Quality in Sundarban's Coastal Routes

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted Independent Drive Tests (IDT) along coastal routes in the Sundarban area of West Bengal to evaluate mobile network quality across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies. The tests, covering areas along rivers Herobhanga, Bidyadhari, and Datta, assessed voice and data services concerning key performance metrics such as Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Download/Upload Throughput, and Latency. The results revealed varying success rates and speeds among service providers Airtel, BSNL, RJIL, and VIL, with Airtel and RJIL achieving high data download speeds.
