TRAI's Network Quality Assessment in Kolkata

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted an Independent Drive Test (IDT) in July 2025 to evaluate mobile network performance across Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly districts, including metro routes. The assessment covered various technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and key parameters such as Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Drop Call Rate (DCR), and data speeds. Results showed Airtel leading in call success rates and data speeds, while BSNL faced challenges in drop call rates along metro routes.
