Tripartite MoU Signed to Enhance Inclusive Education for Persons with Disabilities

A Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi between the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to promote inclusive education for persons with disabilities. The collaboration aims to establish a framework aligned with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. NIOS will create Special Accredited Institutions for Education of the Disabled (SAIEDs) and manage various educational programs, while NCERT will adapt curricula to ensure accessibility and inclusivity. The initiative emphasizes the importance of equal educational opportunities and aims to empower children with disabilities.
