The recent reduction of GST rates from 12% to 5% on various sectors in Tripura, including handlooms, tea, sericulture, and food processing, is set to enhance competitiveness, support rural livelihoods, and expand market access. This reform benefits over 1.37 lakh households in handloom textiles, 54 tea estates, 15,550 farmers in sericulture, and approximately 2,848 food processing units, ultimately revitalizing the state's economy and cultural heritage.
