UIDAI Deactivates Aadhaar Numbers of Deceased Persons

The UIDAI has initiated measures to deactivate Aadhaar numbers of deceased individuals to maintain the integrity of the Aadhaar database. Collaborating with the Registrar General of India, UIDAI accessed 1.55 crore death records, leading to the deactivation of approximately 1.17 crore Aadhaar numbers. A new service on the myAadhaar portal allows users to report the death of family members, ensuring proper validation before deactivation.
