UMEED Central Portal Deadline Concludes with Significant Progress

The UMEED Central Portal for managing Waqf properties in India has officially closed for uploads as of December 6, 2025, marking the completion of a six-month initiative. Launched in June 2025 by Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, the portal aimed to streamline and bring transparency to the management of Waqf properties. Despite initial challenges, the upload process gained momentum with over 5,17,040 properties being initiated, resulting in 2,16,905 successful approvals and 2,13,941 properties pending in the pipeline. The Ministry of Minority Affairs facilitated numerous training sessions and workshops to ensure efficient data management across the country. This achievement underlines a significant step forward in digital governance of Waqf properties, as instructed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India under the UMEED Act, 1995.
